There are several reasons why you might not see any relatives in your DNA Connect account:
- Weekly Update: The DNA Connect update is performed once a week, so relatives may not appear immediately in your account.
- Requirements for your relatives: For you to see your relatives in DNA Connect, they must be registered in our database, which means they must have taken the tellmeGen DNA test or uploaded their genetic raw data file. Furthermore, they must have agreed to participate in the DNA Connect service.
- Analysis Time: If you do not see relatives in your account, please wait 5 to 6 days for the tool to complete the analysis and update the results.
- Accuracy of family relationships: At tellmeGen, we focus on providing accurate and reliable results. If you notice that other platforms show distant relatives (such as distant cousins), it is likely that the accuracy of those relationships is low; therefore, DNA Connect does not display these matches. The reliability for distant cousins is approximately 5%, which means that out of every 20 distant cousins you might see, only 1 would actually be a close relative.
If, after waiting, no relatives appear, it is because they are not in our database, either because they have not taken the tellmeGen DNA test or have not registered for DNA Connect.
