Important: raw genotyping data is only found in the tellmeGen Starter and Advanced kits.
To download your genotyping Raw Data from tellmeGen, log in to your private area and go to the user menu in the Settings → Kits → DOWNLOAD RAW DATA section, at the end of the Kits section, where you will find the link.
By clicking on Download Raw Data, a .csv file will be generated including more than 750,000 markers from the genotyping chip, with their corresponding genotype. This file contains:
- The position on the chromosome where each marker (rsID) is located.
- Your genotype for each marker, composed of two alleles.
This Raw Data file can be used to check your genotype for any marker or be uploaded to other platforms that accept raw data files. Some popular platforms for analyzing tellmeGen Raw Data include Promethease, MyTrueAncestry, and Nutrahacker.
To use your file on these platforms, simply unzip the downloaded .zip file and you will get a .csv file ready to be uploaded to those platforms.
It is important to note that some platforms, such as MyHeritage or Genomelink, do not currently accept tellmeGen Raw Data due to third-party collaboration agreements. However, tellmeGen continues to work on expanding compatibility with more platforms, and users will be notified when this occurs.
