Why can my tellmeGen results change over time and what does it mean if new conditions or traits are added or removed?

Updated on

Your tellmeGen genetic test results may change over time due to advances in genetic and technological research. As science progresses, discoveries and improvements in the interpretation of genetic data allow us to offer more accurate and up-to-date results. These changes do not indicate that previous results were incorrect, but rather that they were previously incomplete or based on less advanced information. Our team of doctors and geneticists works constantly on updating results, ensuring that you get the most accurate and relevant information available.

In some cases, conditions or traits may be removed temporarily or permanently if new scientific evidence arises that questions their validity. This is done to ensure that only results with a solid scientific basis are displayed. If a condition or trait is removed, it does not mean that your genetics have changed, but rather that the scientific basis for that characteristic has been re-evaluated.

On the other hand, more conditions and traits will be added as new scientific discoveries with sufficient evidence emerge. These new additions will be free of charge for you if you are a Starter or Advanced user, and you will be notified by email. Our goal is to offer you a platform that is always updated with the most recent advances in genetics.
