To carry out the genetic risk study in the Starter and Advanced studies, genetic loci are used that have been associated with the development of a complex condition or trait by different scientific projects using a methodology called GWAS.
Loci are fixed positions in the DNA that determine the location of a gene or genetic sequence. That is, the variants present in these loci are used, which are known to have an impact on the development of the condition or trait.
By knowing whether these variants are protective or increase the risk of developing a condition or trait, we use different methods to estimate the result of their combination and generate the genetic risk results.
