In which ranges is the information about my haplogroup included? How can I see this information in my results?

Updated on

Information about your paternal haplogroup is included in all our DNA kits. You can also access this information if you upload your paid Raw Data, whether in the Starter or Advanced version, provided you are male, as the paternal haplogroup can only be obtained from the Y chromosome, which is only present in men.

Similarly, information about your maternal haplogroup is included in all our DNA kits. It is also available if you upload your paid Raw Data (but not in the free version), provided it is in a format compatible with our analysis system.

Regarding costs, knowing both your paternal haplogroup and maternal haplogroup has no additional cost, as both analyses are included in the kit results.

  • If you are male, you will see both haplogroups (paternal and maternal) in the Ancestry section, along with your ethnicity and Neanderthal composition.
  • If you are female, you will only see your maternal haplogroup in the corresponding section, as the paternal haplogroup is not accessible due to the absence of a Y chromosome. However, if a male from your direct family (who is not a descendant) takes the test, you can learn the paternal haplogroup through his results.

In your results, in addition to the maternal haplogroup, you can also see your maternal subhaplogroup and its origin and migration over millennia, along with fun facts and historical figures who share the same haplogroup.
